Peter Berryman — 2nd
“We gambled with a different strategy today to try and make a gap but came up short, these things happen in racing. Came into Silverstone with a 3 point championship lead, and left with a 2nd place and 3x the lead going to Hockenheimring. Can’t be too upset with that. 5 down, 5 to go, just got to keep delivering!”.
Ben Fuller — 3rd
“Mixed feelings today. Felt I did what I needed to do in qualifying with the de facto pole position, tried to manage the pace out front and play to the team game. Hit all my marks, did what was asked of me, and just missed out in the end. We made the strategy choices we felt were best, but Maarten just had a little extra something in the last few laps. Disappointed to lose a win to Maarten and give the P2 to Peter, but I understand the circumstances and believe it is the correct choice. I want to win races and I want to finish higher, but my struggles earlier this season have placed me a fair bit out of the conversation for championship hopes, so we must prioritize the maximum points for guys truly in the fight. On to Hockenheim.”
Yohann Harth — 5th
“A race to forget. My qualifying lap felt decent, although it was only P5 on the grid (within 0.050 of Ben who was the first car on Hards in P2). The start was really good, and I managed to jump Maarten through the first sequence of corners, but on Lap 2 when I tried to go for a move on Marcos (Nunez) into turn 3 we had a bit of netcode contact on exit, and it spun me around. From there, the race was pretty much done, the car never felt the same, and I was hanging on for dear life after 4-5 laps every stint. Putting it into perspective, P5 is a little miracle in the end. We’re off to Hockhenheim Outer for Round 6 where I’m expecting nothing but a huge mess with all the massive straights and the big braking zones“
Michele Costantini — 11th
“My race basically didn’t even start – an unavoidable check up in front of me caused damage to the front wing and forced me to pit on lap 1. From there, my chances for a good points finish were over. Finished P11 and managed to get the fastest lap with the mediums in the end. Race to forget, but we learn, and we move on.”
